Tandridge District Council celebrates completion of 100 council homes

Tandridge District Council is delighted to announce the completion of 100 homes, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to expanding affordable housing in the district.

These 100 homes reflect a diverse approach for increasing our housing stock. This includes new builds, refurbishments and buybacks:

  • New builds: 75 homes have been built on previously underused council land. And 19 more homes are set to be completed soon, including six net zero carbon homes.
  • Refurbishments: 10 existing homes have been renovated to meet modern standards offering quality living spaces.
  • Buybacks: 14 homes reacquired into council ownership.
  • Local Authority Housing Fund: 13 homes have been purchased for resettled refugees and homeless people, which will become part of our housing stock.

By the end of the year, the Council will have delivered a total of 157 homes with ambitious plans underway to provide an additional 200 homes in the next five years.

Councillor Jeremy Pursehouse, Chairman of the Housing Committee, said: “We are incredibly proud of the diverse range of affordable rented homes we have added to our housing portfolio. This milestone is a testament to our continuing commitment to provide high quality, affordable housing for people. We remain committed to delivering another 200 homes so we can provide safe and comfortable homes to people on our housing register.”
