Major incident declared - Godstone sinkhole
Thursday 20 February 6.30pm
The sinkhole in Godstone remains a significant incident and we continue to work closely with our partners to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. The response is now being led by Tandridge District Council, with ongoing support from the Surrey Local Resilience Forum, which includes Surrey County Council.
The road into Godstone from the A25 is closed and diversions are in place. Please visit Surrey County Council road works map for the diversion route. Please avoid the area.
The site continues to be assessed by structural experts, to manage the risk and understand what needs to be done to make the site safe and start repair work.
