The Council can confer the title of Honorary Alderman on any person who, in the opinion of the Council, has rendered eminent services to the Council as a past Councillor. The award is given at a special meeting of Full Council, where no less than two thirds of Councillors at a meeting vote for in favour of giving the title. The position is purely as a mark of honour in recognition of the services provided to the Council over 20 or more years as a Councillor.
The title of Honorary Alderman of the District of Tandridge has been awarded to the following individuals:
